She completed MBBS - Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at Rangaraya Medical College in Kakinada, 1982, DGO - Diploma in Gynecology and Obstetrics at Rangaraya Medical College in Kakinada, 1986 and MD - Doctor of Medicine at Rangaraya Medical College in Kakinada, 1987.

She won several Awards are as following -

• She was a recipient of Dr. Rangacharyulu Memorial Gold Medal in Anatomy at the Rangaraya medical college in Kakinada, 1979
• She Stood First in Andhra University, India in the examination of the Basic Sciences in MD (Obstetrics and Gynecology) in 1985.
• She stood first in the Andhra University in Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynecology Examination in 1986.
• She is a recipient of the Dr. Kanak Goel Award for her services from the Indian Medical Association.
• She was the secretary of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Society of Hyderabad (OGSH) in 2004.
