Dr. Rahman passed MBBS from Silchar Medical College, Assam (Guwahati University) with honors and completed MD, (O&G) from Assam Medical College in 1995 securing a top position in the University. He Trained in IVF & Infertility from Mumbai in 1999. He completed Post-Doctoral Fellowship from the “New York University School of Medicine” (USA) in 2001. He underwent training in Gynecological Endoscopic Surgery from London (UK) in 2003. Dr. Rahman worked in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology in Silchar Medical College, Assam as a lecturer for 10years from 1996. Dr. Rahman is now the senior consultant Gynaecologist & IVF specialist in “PRATIKSHA HOSPITAL”, Guwahati, Assam for the last 10 years and also the visiting IVF consultant of W Pratiksha Hospital, Gurugram. Dr. Rahman was Involved with Infertility treatment, IVF/ICSI, and laparoscopic surgery for the last 10 years. He is credited with having performed the first surrogate pregnancy in northeast India in 2006.
Dr. Rahman is the Official trainer of ob-gyn Ultrasonography (Approved by Federation of Obst-gynae society of India) and Faculty for the course of Diploma in clinical Reproduction conducted by IFS under Amity University. Dr. Rahman is the current Secretary of the Indian Fertility Society Northeast chapter. He has presented several papers at National and International conferences throughout the country and abroad.
