Dr. Damdoar R Rao has completed his M.B.B.S from K .S. Hegde Medical Academy and M.D from PSG Institute of Medical Sciences. Dr.Damodar trained and earned his fellowship in Laparoscopy at BEAMS under the guidance of one of the pioneers in Endoscopic Gynaecology in India – Late. Dr.Rakesh Sinha, where he developed a keen interest in Advanced Gyn. Laparoscopy. To enhance his skills further, he also trained at Galaxy CARE, Pune under the renowned Dr.Shailesh Puntambekar in 2011 in Advanced Laparoscopic Cancer Surgery and Robotic Surgery. In addition to this, Dr.Damodar has completed his Diploma in Gyn. Laparoscopy from University of Louisville, Kentucky in 2012. Furthermore, he has completed his Fellowship in Reproductive Medicine under the guidance of Dr.Asha Rao, and also trained under Dr.Gautam Allahbadia at Tel Aviv.
Dr.Damodar is a member of FOGSI, AAGL, IMA, and the World Endometriosis Society. He is also a committee member of YUVA-FOGSI and the Treasurer of Covai ObGyn Society (COGS). He has presented several papers at various National Gynaecological, Endoscopy, and Infertility conferences. Every year, Dr.Damodar trains several aspiring gynecologists for their Fellowship in Endogynecology (in affiliation with Dr.MGR University) at Rao Hospital. He has also been invited as Faculty for numerous conferences and Hysteroscopy workshops. Dr.Damodar won the Best Paper Award – IAGE 2010 on “Laparoscopic suturing techniques of the Myoma bed”, “Hysteroscopy in Infertility” at Dakshin in 2012. He was also awarded best paper for Laparoscopic vaginoplasty – Davydov’s technique at AICOG 2015.
